Bachelor of Science [B.S] (Exercise and Sport Science - Exercise Science and Wellness)
Field of Study:
$26,632/Yr
Our mission in the department of Exercise and Sport Science is to facilitate students toward career paths in the broad area of human health, well being and movement. The degree prepares students for careers that promote physical activity and health in community, rehabilitation and academics.
With the ever-changing healthcare reform many businesses understand the importance and benefits of wellness coordinators. Jobs are also available in public and private companies, government agencies, fitness centers and health clubs, school recreation departments, community and sports team recreation departments, and personal training.
Students in Exercise and Sport Science study the broad area of human movement. This means that you will study sport, but it also means you will study more than sport. You will study God's greatest creation, the human body, how it moves, why it moves, and the beauty of that movement. If you are interested in athletic training, coaching, being a PE teacher, health and fitness, exercise, rehabilitation, or physical therapy; or if you like sport and all its facets, including sport psychology, sport writing, sport sociology, or sport history, this is the area of study for you.
Students who graduate from these programs continue on toward graduate school; work in elementary schools, secondary schools, and other educational settings; work in business and sales; work in the fitness industry; are personal trainers; are firefighters; are paramedics; are athletic trainers; are physical therapists. The paths are endless, because your book for study was and is the human body.
