The Department of History and Political Thought strives to equip you to “see life steadily and see it whole.” The interdisciplinary nature of the courses required for this major focus on the human experience across time and space by studying the lives and ideas of individuals and examining the ethos and character of societies. Our courses cover a broad range of topics and have rigorous reading and writing requirements. Graduates of Concordia University with a History and Political Thought major will not only have a mind well-filled, but well-trained.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit secondary school transcripts or marksheets and transcripts of any other education attended
- Submit a letter of recommendation directly from principal, school head or college counselor
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit English language proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 90 in iBT with combined score of 34 in speaking and writing
- IELTS: minimum 7.0 with no component below 5.5
- PTE: minimum 61
- Duolingo: minimum 120
- CAEL: minimum 70
