Still others discover new materials to make our homes warmer in the winter, or new textiles to be used in the latest fashions.There are a multitude of careers available to chemists which range from positions in industry, academics, government and medical careers.ACS Chemistry Concentration.This concentration is designed for students who intend to follow a career in the field of chemistry or who intend to enter a graduate program in this science. The curriculum is based on the recommendations of, and is approved by, the American Chemical Society (ACS). As such, it is subject to change upon notice from the ACS.This program requires 120 credit hours. A minor is not required with this concentration. An overall 2.0 GPA is required for all major courses.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of all previous education
- Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.3 on a scale of 4.0
- If student do not have the minimum required GPA of 2.3 then minimum score of 17 is required in ACT or SAT equivalent
- Submitting SAT or ACT score is optional
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum score of 500 in PBT; minimum score of 61 in iBT
- IELTS: minimum score of 55
- Duolingo: minimum score of 85
- ACT: minimum score of 19 in English and Reading
- SAT: minimum score of 500 in evidence based reading
