Students graduating with the B.S. degree program at Arkansas State University will have a strong foundation in the fundamental notions of mathematics, including rigorous proof, and will possess valuable skills in problem solving, critical thinking, and the effective communication of mathematical concepts and models.? Coursework includes exposure to physics, programming, and electives that allow students to explore various topics in applied and pure mathematics and statistics.? The flexibility within the B.S. Mathematics degree allows for optimal preparation for graduate study in mathematics or statistics and prepares B.S. Mathematics students for pursuing careers as an actuary, mathematician, operations research analyst, or statistician; and for other jobs in business, industry, or government that have math as an essential job skill.?
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school and other educational institution attended
- Official transcripts must be submitted in both native language and English
- Applicants should have a minimum GPA of 2.3 or equivalent on a scale of 4.0 on secondary/high school work
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 61 in iBT;
- IELTS: minimum 5.5
- PTE: minimum 43
- SAT: minimum 550 on evidence based reading and writing
- ACT: minimum 21 total
- High School Marks (India): 60% in English at X and XII in certificate
