For hands-on experience in all aspects of production, the UNK Theatre program mounts four mainstage productions, one dance concert, and numerous student-directed pieces each season.? With productions in rehearsal or on stage throughout the academic year, there are always numerous "backstage" opportunities available for theatre technicians, in addition to a wealth of performance opportunities for those who prefer the limelight.

The mission of the University of Nebraska at Kearney Theatre Program, a division of the Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance, is to provide undergraduate students with comprehensive instruction in the field of Theatre Arts that will prepare them for post-graduate study and/or entry into the professional theatre community.? While pursuing a Theatre degree, students will develop a variety of skills and attitudes conducive to a lifetime of independent learning, with an awareness and appreciation for diverse views and an understanding of the contributions of theatre to society and culture.?
