Kutztown University offers admissions for more than 130 undergraduate majors and minors and 25 graduate programs in the liberal arts and sciences, business, education, and certain graduate studies. Last year, the university recorded an acceptance rate of 89%, making is a moderately selective institution. All an applicant needs is a competitive GPA of 3.0, TOEFL-iBT score of 79, and strong academic recommendation letters.

The primary intake sessions for UG and PG courses at Kutztown University are Fall and Spring sessions. However, for a few graduate courses, admissions take place for Summer sessions as well. Kutztown University Admission Deadlines

The university provides rolling admissions for domestic undergraduate applicants which means there is no such deadline and students can apply to universities and colleges at the last minute. Though, the same condition is not applicable for the international applicants at all levels. Admissions for international candidates to plethora of courses offered by the university have fixed deadlines and the students are required to submit their applications prior the declared deadlines which are as mentioned below.

The university has laid down certain guidelines for the admission of international students at all levels and in all programs. The application process is similar for both international and domestic applicants. However, international applicants need to meet some additional requirements.

Visa Process for International Students

To enter the U.S. and attend school, international students require a visa to study in the USA. The students can apply for a student visa to study in the USA after receiving the I-20 (F-1) from the university. Firstly, to receive these forms, they are required to pay Advanced Registration Deposit and after the completion of the form. Next, visit the U.S. Embassy website to schedule an interview appointment with the payment of the required SEVIS fees. Aspirants will be required the following documents for a visa interview:

  • Form I-20 from Kutztown University
  • I-901 Payment Confirmation printed from the www.fmjfee.com website for the for confirmation of payment of USD 350 SEVIS fee
  • Passport 
  • KU acceptance letter
  • Two 2”x 2” photographs in the prescribed format
  • Proof of current financial ability
  • Any proof that you will return to your native country after the completion of the course. For instance, proof of property or family, etc.

Note: Due to the impact of COVID-19, GMAT or GRE test scores are not mandatory upon submission of application for Fall admission.

It may take upto 2-3 business days for the successful processing of applications. After applying, the response for the application form will be received within 3 weeks after all the documents are received along with the application form. Though the University provides rolling admission, still applicants should apply as soon as possible before the seats get filled up.

To check the status of application, students are recommended to sign into MyKU using the network ID and password provided to you in the application acknowledgment letter or by contacting the Office of International Admissions and Services. After the selection, students are required to attend the Virtual Accepted Student Reception and complete the rest of the formalities.
