I enjoyed my corse curriculum. I had the opportunity to explore a variety of courses to best decide what my major would be while also getting credit and fulfilling basic core requirements for many majors.
Student fees existed. They went towards the gym, library, and other student services. One large fee was paid at the beginning of each semester. Classes had their own fees sometimes as well.
I love my major and the curriculum. I've learned so much about the field of public health and the nitty gritty sub-division of topics that fall under this whole field of health. It's structured very well at UNLV, but on my pre-med side, I will say the science department needs a lot of help. Too many teachers that don't care and don't care about how you learn the material in their class.
I'm a unique case because I started college paid for (blessed) because of FAFSA, school grants and scholarships. So I basically sign up for classes then right when class is about to start I get the receipt that the payment went through. But it is about 200 something a credit, and your tuition includes insurance for the health center and access to the gym and such.
I think that it could be better. There is a lot of disorganization within the program and a lot of miscommunication. There is also not a lot of support for social workers in my city, so many of us have to fend for ourselves with internships and getting jobs.
Tuition was the largest cost, at about $100-$200 a credit. The fees that really frustrated me and other students were things like study abroad and other fees that we did not choose to use.
