Majoring the program at Rider University prepares students for a variety of careers because of the analytical (critical thinking) and communication (written and oral) skills it fosters. Rider History graduates enter careers in fields such as education, law, government, business, foreign service, journalism, and public history.
The Department revised its curriculum in 2013 to strengthen the connection between the kinds of intellectual achievement we expect to see in our graduates, as demonstrated by their performance in the capstone project, and the curriculum they follow from the freshman year onward. The new curriculum is designed to assure that important skills and habits of mind are introduced and reinforced in a structured way. Students become more proficient by following this program.?

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts, marksheets, grades of all previous secondary and post secondary education
- Transcripts must be translated in English and should contain the courses taken and grades received
- Submit essay on the topic requested in application
- Submit one letter of recommendation from an individual who can describe your academic potential
- SAT/ACT scores is not compulsory but can be submitted for consideration
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores

- TOEFL: minimum 540 in PBT; minimum 70 in iBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.0
- PTE: minimum 50
- Duolingo: minimum 95
- ITEP: minimum 3.7
