Students learn to manage, control and evaluate businesses from the smallest startup to the largest multinational corporation. They explain, apply, and evaluate financial accounting concepts at a professional level while delving into structured and unstructured real-world business problems. Our programs prepare students for careers in public, corporate or governmental accounting.
The Bachelor of Science in Accounting program is designed to prepare students for a career in public, corporate and governmental accounting. Students learn the basic definitions, concepts, and techniques of accounting, as well as the role accounting, plays in society. Over 90 percent of our graduates are able to start their graduate studies or careers in accounting at entry-level professional positions.
Students majoring in accounting will be able to:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements
- Identify relevant authoritative guidance to apply appropriate professional judgments
- Integrate financial accounting reporting with managerial accounting methods to produce data for use in real-world business decisions
- Explain, apply and evaluate relevant topics related to federal income tax
- Explain and apply an ethical conceptual framework to address real-world ethical problems

Academic Eligibility:

International students are not required to submit the SAT or ACT to complete their application to LMU. Strong candidates for admission who do not provide these scores will provide alternate assessments of their academic abilities such as International Baccalaureate (IB) courses, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, A levels, or rigorous national examinations.
Non-native English speakers must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) given by the Educational Testing Service and arrange for scores to be sent to the Office of Admission. As an alternative to taking the TOEFL, non-native English speakers may also take the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
Submit your transcripts in English from all secondary schools/high schools attended. Full transcripts from each individual school year must be provided.
