The Master of Science: Special Education program is for currently licensed teachers seeking anchor, initial or additional special education licensure. The Master of Science: Special Education requires a minimum of 34 graduate credits. Up to 9 graduate transfer credits are allowed. Minnesota Board of Teaching requirements must be met if seeking licensure.
The courses are available to individuals who hold a MN teaching license. The LD program offers courses for candidates seeking an anchor or additional license. All Minnesota teaching license requirements must be met to be eligible for the LD license.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicants must have completed a bachelors degree from an accredited university
- Submit official transcripts of all previous education completed
- Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent on a scale of 4.0 for admissions consideration
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by an evaluation agency like WES, ECE or SpanTran
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 61 in iBT; 500 in PBT; 173 in CBT
- IELTS: minimum score of 6.5
- Duolingo: minimum score of 105
