Our philosophy Master's degree with an emphasis in environmental philosophy offers students a unique stepping stone towards further studies in philosophy or careers in a wide range of fields related to natural resource issues and policy. The environmental track is taught by a core group of faculty members with interests that range across several areas of environmental philosophy.

In addition to philosophy faculty working directly in these areas, many faculty outside the department--for example in the College of Forestry and Conservation, the Division of Biological Sciences, English, Environmental Studies, and Native American Studies--offer relevant courses that can be taken as electives and are available to students working on their graduate thesis.

A graduate certificate in Natural Resources Conflict Resolution can simultaneously be achieved by students while enrolled in the masters emphasis. A graduate certificate in Wilderness Management can be achieved with just one additional (online) course beyond those required for the masters degree.
