Pretty good. Most students get placed, however, high amount of individual effort is required to secure a job/internship. Salary is usually upward of $70k a year.

Post-study placement opportunities are decent but students will have to put in the effort themselves to find good jobs. One cannot only rely on career placement officers for finding employment opportunities.

Jobs after PhD are usually post-docs and there are no companies recruiting from our department. Some people go on to work in conservation NGOs like WCS and TNC.

I had two PhD offers and I chose this one mainly because my previous advisors recommended it. It is a presitigious university in an exciting and happening city and an experienced advisor who is a "good human being". All of these points, except university prestige, I still think are important parameters to make the choice. I would also look at the department structure and work culture - both of which are often better at public universities.

I don't know too much about job placement, but I know we have a really strong alumni network and it's super easy for students to reach out to alumni. I also know that engineering starting salaries are usually around $70k all the way up to $100k.

Internship

There are so many resources to help students get internships, as well as certain clubs, have really strong connections to certain companies. I don't know much about campus jobs, but I know they exist and are a part of the work-study program.

As a current student I can say about existing stats since I haven't personally gotten to this stage. The median salary for MS CS students is around $100,000. Students mostly depend on applying through company websites than career fairs (like most colleges in the US).

Not sure about the median salary. The placements are very good. Once a semester you will have two career fairs. The companies however are startups or are companies located in New York. Placement works mostly like how it works in other colleges. You will have to apply via linkedin or through referral or through other popular job hiring sites. The college curriculum is very rigorous and will definitely prepare you well enough to be able to secure a good job.

Internship

I have not.

This depends a lot of the program you are going for. For example, there are lots of opportunities in Engineering courses compared to Music or Art programs.

Internship

I have not got an internship yet. The process in US is usually similar. There are no concepts of campus placements, so start learning how to communicate with recruiters and your seniors/alums. You reach out to people on LinkedIn, apply on company portals, reach out to your friends/seniors and basically learn to network to get opportunities. You get all resources but it is upto you how much you make out of it.
