- The objective of the Accounting track in the Business Administration Ph.D. program is to prepare students for academic careers at major research universities. Dixon School faculty guide student learning through a combination of coursework and hands-on research projects with the objective of contributing new insights to the field.
- Students immerse themselves in classic and cutting-edge research in accounting, theories drawn from psychology, economics, and/or sociology as well as the methods used to discover and evaluate new ideas in the field.

The minimum UCF admissions requirements are as follows:
- A graduate degree or professional degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or its equivalent from a foreign institution in a field related to the discipline of the program to which the student is applying.
- A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or its equivalent from a foreign institution and a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
