Innovation through mathematical problem solving is needed in every field imaginable. These areas include: physics, engineering, business, economics technology, healthcare, weather and biology. CBU?s Master of Science in Applied Mathematics curriculum is designed to help students identify challenging real-world problems in these fields, formulate a mathematical model that effectively addresses the problems and use models to obtain real-world solutions.
The program integrates a faith-based perspective into a foundation of mathematical theory and concepts. The main course sequence focuses on the topics of differential equations, complex and numerical analysis, scientific computing and linear programming, applied statistics and math biology.
Students will also be able to communicate the results of their research and application through reports and presentations. With these skills, graduates will be able to significantly contribute to a competitive work force or pursue a PhD program in applied mathematics or a related field.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Must have completed bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited university
- Submit official transcripts of all past education and additional transcripts may be needed for GPA
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent is required on a scale of 4.0 for admission
- Some of the pre-requisite courses are: multivariable calculus, linear algebra, differential equation, probability and statistics
- Submit two letters of recommendation out of which at least one should be from a professor
- Submit an essay of 300 words that should include long term professional goals, purpose of entering program, reason for choosing the university
- Complete an interview with the program director
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum score of 80 in iBT
- IELTS: minimum score of 6.0
- PTE: minimum score of 53
