Why our program?
The M.S. in Kinesiology offers a core curriculum and three concentration options which lead to the development of future leaders, clinicians, coaches and educators. The program includes academic as well as practical experiences in the student?s chosen area of study.
Concentrations
- Exercise Science:?Prepares students for relevant certifications through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and other organizations. Graduates find a diverse range of employment opportunities in cardiac rehab, employee wellness programs, commercial health and fitness facilities and other clinical settings.
- Sport Management:?Prepares students for careers in a variety of sport businesses and organizations, including professional sport teams, collegiate athletic departments, sport communication, marketing and public relations, sport agencies, and health and fitness facilities. The curriculum follows the guidelines of the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA).
- Physical Education:?Prepares teaching and coaching professionals seeking career advancement in elementary and secondary institutions both public and private. Concentration courses focus on physical and health education methods, curriculum development, and ethics in sports.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Must have completed bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited university
- Submit official transcripts of all past education and additional transcripts may be needed for GPA

The Prerequisites need to be completed with a grade "C" or better: Physical education concentration requires a minimum of 12 semester units in kinesiology/physical education including a basic movement anatomy or related course; Exercise science concentration requires courses in the following: Anatomy & Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics or related course; Nutrition in health science concentration requires completion of prerequisite courses in: General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry
- Minimum GPA of 2.75 or equivalent is required on a scale of 4.0 for admission
- Submit three letters of recommendation from persons who can address your potential for success
- Submit an essay of 500 words that should include long term professional goals, purpose of entering program, reason for choosing the university
- Submit current resume
- Complete an interview with the program director
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum score of 80 in iBT
- IELTS: minimum score of 6.0
- PTE: minimum score of 53
