All Dental Hygiene Department educational programs are based on academic excellence, and the values of community involvement, ethical conduct, and social responsibility. The MSADT program provides the theoretical and applied skills necessary for licensure as a dental therapist and certification as and an advanced dental therapist as defined by Minnesota statute. This graduate program requires a full-time commitment for four semesters and prepares baccalaureate educated, licensed dental hygienists for advanced practice to enhance the oral and general health of underserved communities.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicant must have completed bachelors degree from an accredited university
- Submit official transcripts of all previous education showing all the courses completed and GPA obtained
- Official transcripts must be evaluated course by course by either ECE or WES
- Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Applicant must have 2000 hours of clinical dental hygiene experience
- Submit two professional letters of recommendation
- Evidence of current unencumbered Minnesota dental hygiene license and nitrous oxide and local anesthesia certifications
- Submit your personal statement with personal goals
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 80 in iBT ; 550 in PBT; 213 in CBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
- Duolingo: minimum 105
