Bachelor of Arts [B.A] (Theatre - Acting, Directing)
Field of Study:
$41,696/Yr
In addition to a vigorous course load, we produce three faculty-directed shows, a faculty-directed dance concert, and student directed productions that include fully-realized productions, minimalist productions, the annual musical revue “Night of Musical Theatre”, a dance team showcase, and various other student-driven works throughout the year.
Students are given numerous opportunities to explore each facet of the production process. Graduates of the program boast having tried their hands at acting, directing, building and painting sets, designing and realizing sound and lights, creating costumes, gathering props, working backstage, and stage managing. While each student explores the entire production process, we encourage students to delve deeply into their specific area of interest.
At PLU, we trust students with a great deal of responsibility and leadership. This gives junior and senior level students professional-level experiences while providing first and second-year students with a substantial learning opportunities.
PLU offers a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in both Acting/Directing and Design/Technical Theatre. All PLU students are encouraged to participate, however; majors and non-majors alike are welcomed into all components of the process.
Dedicated and approachable faculty, a close-knit and diverse student community, and a deep appreciation and respect for theatre’s role in society sets PLU Theatre apart from other programs.
Come say hi and see firsthand all the amazing work we are producing! PLU Theatre Faculty are housed in the Karen Hille Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
