Overview:

  • The MS degree in ECE program has two options: the course-work only option and the Thesis option.
  • The coursework option is meant for students who want to seek employment in industry while the thesis option, which involves more in-depth research, is designed for students who may consider pursuing a Ph.D.

Curriculum:

Thesis Option (a minimum of 45 credits is required):

  • (Required credits) TECE 5xy: a minimum of 15 credits from the depth course list below, and a minimum of 15 credits from the breadth course list below
  • (Optional) Non ECE, EE, CES: 5 credits maximum, 4xy or above
  • (Required credits) TECE 700 (thesis): a minimum of 9 credits required, max 15 credits

Coursework-only Option (a minimum of 45 credits is required):

  • (Required credits) TECE 5xy: a minimum of 20 credits from the depth course list below, and a minimum of 15 credits from the breadth course list below

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Requirement

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related fields from a regionally accredited institution (or an equivalent international degree)
  • A minimum of 45 credits are required for the MS ECE degree.
  • A minimum grade of 2.7 is required in each course counted toward the degree.
  • Applicants are required to have minimum 3.0 GPA

English language proficiency.

  • This requirement can be demonstrated in one of the following ways:
    • A degree from a regionally accredited institution in the U.S. or another nation where English is the main language, such U.K. or Australia to cite but a few?
    • Minimum: TOEFL iBT: 80, TOEFL MyBest: 80, Duolingo: 105
