The Agronomy program is an undergraduate major under the Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences degree in the College of Agriculture and Food Sciences at Florida A&M University. This major prepares our students for careers in production agriculture with emphasis in plant, soil and water sciences.Because of the unique nature of this program, our students find employment with state and federal agencies (e.g. Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, United States Department of Agriculture, US-Forest Service, Natural Resource Conservation Service) as well as the private sector (e.g. Monsanto, Pioneer, Coors).Feeding the world by understanding the science of plants, soil and water and the application of same to production agriculture is our overarching goal.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Application Requirements:
- Submit an official or certified copy of all secondary and post-secondary records and/or examination results.
- Official transcripts must be evaluated by a member of NACES and should have an English translation if not in English
- Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or equivalent on a scale of 4.0
- Submit official test scores of SAT/ACT
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 80 in iBT; 550 in PBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.0

Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University have specific admission deadlines for undergraduate and graduate programs. The admission intake deadline for the fall session is May 1 for the undergraduate programs and February 1 for the postgraduate programs.
