For program and curriculum development, the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering utilizes two primary guiding principles:
- Develop and maintaining a solid industrial engineering curriculum coupled with a strong research program driven by the economic needs of our society.
- Advance the College of Engineering's missions relative to minorities and women in engineering.
The objectives of the graduate programs are to provide students with theknowledge, skills, tools and qualifications needed to successfully practiceindustrial engineering or to continue their education at the doctoral level.To accomplish these objectives, the program provides educational opportunitiesfor students to become professionally responsible, creative problem-solversand decision-makers in a world undergoing rapid change, both technologicallyand socially.
Specifically, the programs emphasize:
- Acquisition of knowledge and understanding of appropriate fundamentals to ensure a solid foundation for the development of professional, technical and business competence. Development of skills necessary for integrating knowledge in order to produce efficient and economic solutions. Development of team work and written/oral communication skills. Development of, and practice in, computer-assisted problem solving. Cultivation of an understanding and awareness of the human role in all stages of professional activities.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicants must have a bachelors degree or masters degree from an accredited university
- Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in last 60 hours of undergraduate or 3.0 in graduate coursework
- Submit official transcripts of all previous education institution attended
- Submit GMAT/GRE scores
- Submit three letters of recommendation
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 80 in iBT; 550 in PBT
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
