The Department of offers bachelor of science, bachelor of arts, master of science and doctoral degrees with specialization in geology, geophysics and environmental science.
TU?s curriculum provides a sound foundation in the basic sciences while engaging in energy-related fields of exploration, environment and resources. The bachelor of science degree in geosciences with a geology option prepares students for careers in the study of Earth?s physical characteristics including composition and structure. The environmental science option is designed for students who intend to work as geoscientists at organizations, corporations and government entities.
The bachelor of science degree in geophysics applies the fundamentals of physics to the study of the Earth?s material and organic systems. The interdisciplinary bachelor of science in Biogeosciences degree program attracts students interested in a combined curriculum from the Departments of Biological Science and Geosciences.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of high school and university level study
- Submit a counselor or teacher recommendation letter
- Submit a personal essay
- Submit SAT/ACT scores
- Applicants have to complete an interview
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 70 with (15 in reading, 15 in listening, 18 in speaking, 17 in writing)
- IELTS: minimum score of 6.0
- PTE: minimum score of 48
