Cockpit resource management, teamwork, and responsibility are emphasized. First-year students can start flying during the first week and obtain their basic flight certificates and ratings by the end of the sophomore year. During the junior and senior years, students gain experience flying both turbine-powered aircraft and large airline-style simulators.
The program can be completed in three years and students can apply to participate in the five-year combined bachelor's/master's degree program in aviation technology; ask an academic advisor how.
The bachelor's degree in professional flight is accredited by Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI).

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Self reported high school grades and official transcripts
- Self reoprted ACT or SAT scores
- Proof of english language proficiency
- Personal Essay and Purdue specific questions
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL IBT: 88 minimum or higher
- IELTS: 6.5 minimum or higher with 6.0 in each section
- Duolingo: minimum 110 or better
- SAT or ACT: minimum of 600 in Evidence Based Reading & Writing in SAT and 26 minimum in English section in ACT
