Bachelor of Science [B.S] [Chemistry and Business] From Wingate University

You can pursue a career in chemical or pharmaceutical sales right after graduation. The degree prepares you for graduate school too.

The major offers you two different ways to reach your goal. Thirty-one hours will give you a solid foundation in chemistry. You then combine this by taking one of two tracks:

• The management / marketing track prepares you to go into an MBA program after graduation. To fulfill this track, students take 12 hours in specified management and marketing courses.
• The accounting track prepares you for a master’s in accounting program after graduation. To fulfill this track, students take 12 hours in specified accounting courses.

No matter which track you choose, you’ll enjoy small classes taught by professors who are also researchers and scientists. And you’ll get hands-on experience with lab equipment in any of four new labs right from the start. But research doesn’t end with what you find out in test tubes.

Recently, Wingate University students in the Commercial Chemistry course created a formula for a window cleaner. But they didn’t stop there. They also named their mixture (Bulldog Window Cleaner). And they did the marketing, the branding and the packaging for the cleaner too.

The project also involved research and development and served as an introduction to chemical engineering. You can learn these steps in similar projects.
