Bachelor of Science [B.S] [History and Education] From Wingate University

The first education class you take has you conducting a practicum at a local high school. After that, small class sizes help ensure you receive personal attention. Courses in education and history give you the knowledge and skills you need to succeed as a teacher. 

And you don’t have to look far to find examples of great teachers. Your education and history professors are dedicated to helping you succeed. They measure your growth as a teacher as you move through the program. You’ll be ready when it’s time for you to student teach.

Only students who earn 45 hours of academic credit are eligible to join the teacher education program. If you’re interested in majoring in History and Education, you must apply to the teacher education program and:

• Be interviewed by at least one education professor
• Have a 2.50 GPA when you apply
• Have a positive evaluation in your field experience
• Have at least a “C” in English 110
• Have passing scores for the Praxis One test
• Maintain a 2.50 GPA until you graduate
• Provide three references from Wingate University professors
