- The program explores topics in arts, humanities, and the social sciences in the masters in liberal studies program at UAlbany. This interdisciplinary program lets students create a highly personalized curriculum to develop their historical and theoretical background from literary and cultural studies to political theory and environmental law.
- If students are interested in issues in contemporary cultural theory in a global context, this program will help them advance their research skills and academic credentials. Culminating in a thesis, the liberal studies MA prepares students for additional study at the doctoral level or a career in a wide range of fields including public service, education, and healthcare.
- The program’s elective selections will span at least two university departments and may examine diverse topics such as literary and cultural theory, gender, race and ethnicity, postcolonial studies, human rights, politics, and law.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must successfully complete 75% of the total credits. Students have four semesters to achieve the 75% standard.
- Students must achieve and maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE scores.
- The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or GMAT results are required.
Indian Students Eligibility:
- Students should submit required official and complete individual mark skeets for each examination attempt, including subsidiary exams.
- Photocopies of student's mark sheets are accepted only when they are attested by the University Registrar or Controller of Examinations and placed in a sealed, stamped envelope that is sent directly to the Graduate School.

International applicants are required to apply for an F-1 or J-1 student Visa. As per the application process of universities in the USA, a student needs to have the following basic documents to procure a US student visa.
