The Film and Media Studies Program has grown steadily since the major was unveiled in 2001 and has quickly become among the most popular of interdisciplinary majors in the College of Arts and Sciences. Devoted to the critical study of moving images, the program also offers coursework in film and media productions.

- Introduction to Film and Media Studies
- Film and Media History
- Film and Media Theory and Criticism
- Topics in Film and Media Histories (recent topics include: Tarantino; Hong Kong Action Cinema; The Teen Film; Art and Cinema; Surveillance; Hollywood in the 1950s and 1960s)
- Documentary Film and Media Studies
- Courses in Media Arts and Theater
