- The master's degree may be earned by completing 33 semester hours of coursework, which must include 3 credit hours of Special Problems research credit.
- Alternatively, the candidate may elect to complete twenty-four semester hours of coursework along with nine hours of MS thesis work.
- In the latter option, the candidate must propose a thesis topic, complete the thesis, and successfully defend it before being awarded the degree.
- Requirements for Non-Thesis Master's Degrees
- The Non-Thesis master's degree option requires students to earn 30 credit hours from classwork, and three (3) credit hours from the pursuit of a specialty research problem, to be determined by the academic advisor.
- At least 12 credit hours must be from courses offered by the School of Aerospace Engineering. Distance Learning Program students are required to take the Non-Thesis option.

- Requirements for the Thesis Master's Degree
- The Thesis master's degree option requires students to take 24 credit hours of classwork and nine (9) credit hours of research. MS thesis students may take no more than nine (9) credit hours of non-AE classes.
- Students enrolled in this option should familiarize themselves with the thesis proposal and defense requirements that are outlined here. This option is not available to Distance Learning program students.
- A GPA of 2.7 is required to graduate with an MS degree

Georgia Institute Of Technology offers MS Cyber Security program in offline and online learning modes. International students applying for admission in this program must have an undergraduate degree in the relevant field from a recognized university and have a valid ELP test score. For the On campus program, the application deadline is February 15. While the application deadline for the Online program is February 1 as standard deadline and Marchh 15 as the final deadline.
