Master of Science [M.Sc] in Geology at the Auburn University is a 2 year, 30-credit program.
It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
The curriculum provides broad training in geology with the opportunity for specialization through electives, directed studies, and thesis or capstone research.
The M.S. degree program in geology is oriented towards providing the student with a broad background in geology with the opportunity for specialization through electives, thesis research and directed studies. Although faculty members and students are active in research, quality teaching is emphasized.
The course is designed to provide an in-depth knowledge of the geological studies.
It is divided into four semesters with theory classes and practical knowledge.
After the first and third semester, the students have to take field training for 2-3 weeks in suitable geological areas.
Along with these, the students are also required to submit their dissertation by the end of their fourth semester.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students must complete a 4-year bachelor's degree in Geology or related Earth Science discipline.
Students need approval of the Department’s Graduate Program Committee, Department Head, faculty members of the Administration of Higher Education program, and the Dean of the Graduate School.
A GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required to be eligible for the program.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

Students must complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Students need to submit a minimum GMAT score and GRE exam scores for a better chance of admission.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
