Course Curriculum
PhD did not have any course work. The research work gave very good opportunity to interact with different stakeholders.
Exams
Minimum IELTS score: 6.5 (>6 band each); My IELTS score: 7.5 (8, 8, 6.5, 7.5). Research proposal, experience in research techniques.
Placement
There were no special placement drive conducted. Post-study opportunities were not as attractive as in USA or European countries
Events
Lively campus with frequent activities involving diverse communities. Good infrastructure and transport facilities.
Scholarship
2016 International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS), and ‘Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) Amount: IPRS - covers Tuition fee (~38,000AUD/year (for 4 years)) and Insurance (~4,000AUD/4 years) ; APA - living allowance (~26,500AUD/year (for 4 years)) Process: Through merit-based international competition announced by the university.
Faculty
Professor Zora Singh was my PhD supervisor and he is world-renowned scientist in field of Horticulture. He was very supportive and accessible at any time. Other faculty and staff were also helpful but were accessible in a very limited times.
Hostel
On-Campus accommodation - very good facilities = ~ 200AUD per week Off-campus accommodation _ relatively economic option = 140 - 180 AUD per week
