Lauren Edwards Review at Edith Cowan University [ECU], Perth | Collegedunia

A look at ECU

LE
6.2 /10

It had the exact course I wanted to do when I wanted to do marketing. My older brother went here and had a good experience. change into Biomed because I had a change in interests, and stayed at the same uni to make things easier, despite getting into a similar course at a different uni. had a Min atar of 70 which I knew I'd get, so I knew I'd get in.

Course Curriculum :

It's good, covers a range of areas.

Exams :

I had an interest in the human body. There was a min atar of 70 which I achieved in year 12. Not undertaking any specific programs. This isn't a pre-med course but if I choose I can do the GAMSAT to get into medicine.

Placement :

I am unsure about this specific course, but ECU has an average employment rate after graduation. it highly depends on the course you are doing. with some courses, there are no placements at all. nursing I know is good for placements.

Internship :

There are a few internship opportunities, however, there are always limited places. it also highly depends on the course you're doing. on-campus jobs (such as the food places) have the same hiring criteria as any other job. I am unsure if it's the same with working in the reception etc.

Events :

I don't attend many events. They have parties throughout the year, balls, etc.

Fees :

The cost per unit is around $1200. which adds up to approximately $5000 per semester, and around $35,000 for the whole course. unsure of scholarships for international students. haven't heard of any scholarships in general. The international student rate is quite high. I have a student loan is taken out- HECS debt which I will pay off after I start earning.

Scholarship :

I applied for the HECS loan and had not paid anything until I start earning over a certain amount (approx 45k).

Examination Structure :

Good.

Faculty :

I find them to be professional and experts in their field, equipped with real-world knowledge. They encourage us to broaden our knowledge outside the classroom and think of the real world.

Hostel :

I live at home and travel to uni every day, as do many people in Australia unless we live in a rural area, as all the units are located in the CBD or metropolitan area. I would consider living closer to uni if I had the money, but would not consider living on campus as it's too much money and limited freedom.
