University of Saskatchewan Review

ZL
6.8 /10

It was close to home. My family was in Saskatoon, I had friends from high school who also went to this university. The tuition is cheaper. I am familiar with the city, didn't have to move away, and I could live at home while going to school.

Course Curriculum :

The curriculum was good. Pretty standard I think. I wish there were more practical training in the curriculum, like the stuff that will benefit me career-wise, such as using certain softwares, giving presentations, etc. But most of my courses are mainly academic.

Fees :

The fees for each class is about $500-600, depending on the program. So if you take a full course load which is 5 courses per semester, it will be around $3000 in tuition. There are also infrastructure fees, student union fees, athletic fees (for the gym and facilities), and bus fees (for getting unlimited bus rides throughout the semester), which adds up to about $500.

Examination Structure :

The final exam for each semester is in December or April. The exact date of the exam is set by the administration and not released until one month into the semester. Then exams are usually three hours long.

Faculty :

The faculty is good, overall. There has been a few professors who were just there to read off the slides or textbook and I ended up having to teach myself the material. But most of the professors I've met are very knowledgeable and willing to help.
