My experience so far has been fantastic. I got to know a lot about new culture and I am enjoying it very much.

7.7 /10

There are a few factors that helped me choose University:-1. Fees structure:- It aligned with my budget and provides me an economically pressure-free environment to study.2. Supervisor:- My Supervisor is very helpful and understanding which helps me pursue my degree at a very good pace.3. Course and Research topic:- I got the research topic in the field I always wanted to go. My choices were Automobile, Design, Material Science, and Manufacturing.

Course Curriculum :

My course curriculum includes 4 courses and research work. It is more inclined towards thesis writing and experimental Analysis for research work.

Exams :

I had to submit my CV, 1 SOP, 2 LOR, and my transcripts from the University. I presented my project and academics in my CV and I used my SOP to showcase my interest and experience in the current research of my Supervisor. I wrote more about what I want to do to align my interest with my Professor's work rather than showing what I have already done. Furthermore, I took both my LORs from my Professors selecting them on the basis of my projects under them so as to make sure that they know me closely and could provide genuine feedback about my personality. Yes. I had one interview where I was asked to present a PowerPoint presentation on the research topic which I want to pursue in my Master's degree. It was basically to see what I have read about the research group so far and what new ideas can I bring to the research group.

Placement :

The Alumni network is very good and a job fair is a common event for the University happening every 3-4 months. Alumni I know are working in a very diverse group of profiles from R&D Engineer to Quality and assurance Lead.

Internship :

No, my course requirement is a thesis and not a co-op/internship.

Events :

One of the best campuses in Canada and rated as the 2nd most beautiful University campus in Canada. Wifi facilities are provided across the campus and a lot of clubs and technical teams to be a part of including the Indian Student Association, the Graduate Student Association, the Racing vehicle team "Huskie racing", and many more.

Fees :

tuition fees: $6731/year for MSc/MEng admitted in or before 2020.

Scholarship :

Yes, I received the Graduate Research fellowship Award worth $16000/year. I was nominated by my Professor to the dept. of Mechanical Engineering for the Award based on current course percentage (which is 90.5%) and research work progress.

Faculty :

For graduate students, the ratio is 1/5. The faculty and staff are very good and quite approachable. It is being evident from the COVID that staff is versatile and can work and support the students in tough and bad situations.

Hostel :

I live on campus in Seager Wheeler Hall. The accommodation is cheap and quite impressive. Common rooms to chill, playrooms to play indoor games, free laundry facility to use, 6 BHK apartment with a lot of space for everyone respecting each other's privacy.
