Drishti Review at Trent University, Peterborough | Collegedunia

Trent university: a short review

D
7.2 /10

The university has a strong forensic science program and it’s the best undergraduate university in Ontario

Course Curriculum :

The course syllabus is relevant and is practical.

Exams :

It was basically having a gpa higher than 66 percent and it also depends on the type of programme you are seeking interest in.

Placement :

Very few you basically have to choose your own path and figure a way out. The placement option in forensic science is just one placement course and I personally feel despite my high grades and resume I could not get it. It’s competitive and very less international students get selected. Finding your own internship outside of the university is a better idea rather than hoping to get selected in one single course.

Internship :

No, I haven't applied for internships.

Fees :

23-25 thousand dollars per year

Scholarship :

Yes, I received an entrance scholarship and a TI course scholarship for maintaining a GPA higher than 80 percent.

Faculty :

They appreciate hard workers and are very approachable if you write formal emails. Professor Barry Saville and my college principal Stephanie muehlethaler had a very huge impact on me in the sense they have guided me academically and I could go to them in case I had any problem or issue. They are outstanding kind and very knowledgeable people.

Campus Life :

The Trent international game is strong and has awesome support. There are clubs such as Saat and Tisa that support international students and many groups such as TVAN which plans activities in art for those who are interested.

Hostel :

I lived off campus and the average rental is at 300-600 Dollars per room
