Over the course of my bachelor's, I realized that I am the kind of person with a good fit in Urban and Regional Planning. So, I ended up applying to the University of Waterloo. In addition, my focus was just Canada and no other countries, and that helped me to provide more energy to the Universities in Canada.
Course Curriculum
Pretty good. The course is most recent and well diverse to collect and reach all the corners of the field, with actual studios to gain hands-on experience.
Exams
Yes, it was required to submit 1 SOP and 3 LORs. There was no need for me to submit a CV. For SOP, I firmly recommend hiring a consultant to help you present the best of what you have done and what you want in the future. For LORs, you need to be honest and straight, and if possible try to maintain a linkage between what you mentioned in SOP and what your mentors are telling about you. Finally, never exaggerate on SOP or LOR be confident in who you are.
Placement
Pretty good given the development and expansion of Ontario and Canada.
Events
Amazing, but time will always be a constraint, and will have to prioritize what you want to do and what you do not want to do.
Fees
40,000/- CAD for two years
Scholarship
International Masters Student Award by the University of Waterloo worth $15,000/- CAD.
Faculty
We have supervisors for each student to guide them in their thesis, so the ratio of faculty to the student is pretty good. One needs to understand, that in research-based courses the ratio of faculty to students will always be good, as compared to the program-based course.
Hostel
On-campus accommodation is available.
