VISA & Work Study
VISA
- updated
- An F-1 visa is a type of non-immigrant visa which allows individuals to study in the United States. A student who wishes to enter the US for studies on an F-1 visa will need to submit appropriate documentation in order to be issued a Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility) by UT. An F-1 visa can only be issued by a US consulate or embassy abroad.
- The University of Texas at Austin usually requests H-1B nonimmigrant status for individuals it hopes to bring to the U.S. temporarily to perform services in a specialty occupation. This is an occupation that requires theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge. In this case, UT is the petitioner and the individual it hopes to bring is the beneficiary.
