- The Master of Arts in History program consists of course work, a Major Research Paper, and a presentation of research at the annual Graduate Student Conference.
- It is offered as both a one-year full-time program (three consecutive terms: Fall, Winter, and Spring/Summer) or on a three-year flex-time program (nine consecutive terms).
- Nipissing's program centers on the following fields: International, Gender, Canadian, European, and Environmental history. Nipissing's dynamic and award-winning faculty has expertise in areas that include environmental history, the history of genocide, indigenous studies and community history, foreign relations and politics, and military history, and the history of espionage.
- Graduate students will enjoy the guidance they receive from dedicated faculty. Students will be supported by professors who regularly win external funding and recognition, and who are readily accessible to help them focus on their research and navigate their way to success.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Applicants must hold an Honours BA normally in History or in a Combined Honours program with a History major and at least a 75% average on the last ten full (20 half/semester courses) courses completed at the time of application, or equivalent qualifications to be considered for admission.
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicants whose first language is not English are required to submit the results of an acceptable English Language Proficiency test.
The minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
