Govt Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College - [GMKMC], Salem

Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College, Selam, Tamil Nadu was established with an aim to provide education to poor and socially depressed classes in Salem and the districts around. Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India, laid the foundation of the college. The college offers graduate and post-graduate courses in the field of medical science covering areas such as MBBS and MD.

• Laboratories- The college offers an extensive number of laboratories with all modern day equipment and covers all the areas of learning provided by the college. Some of the Laboratories are Biological Laboratory, General Surgical Laboratory, gynecological clinic and the like to for support the learning and skill development program for the students.

• Scholarship offers: The college supports the backward classes through scholarship programs such as Government of India Scholarship program, National Loan Scholarship, Backward Class Scholarship, Gandhi Memorial Award, Bright student award, Ad-Hoc Merit grant and Arignar Anna Memorial Award. For general category, the Institute has National Merit Scholarship and Dr. C. Thilagavathi Scholarship.
