RV College of Engineering (RVCE) is a self-financing engineering college approved by AICTE and established in 1963 in Bangalore, Karnataka. RVCE is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University and accredited by NBA. RV College of Engineering offers admission to over 1200 students per year. RVCE Courses & Fees
RVCE is a self-financing institute known for its engineering programs consisting of UG & PG courses. Candidates must have minimum of 60% marks in 10+2 as basic eligibility criteria for the B.Tech courses and the applicant should have passed graduation with 50% marks for admission to M.Tech courses. RVCE Admission 2024
RVCE offers admission to B.Tech, MCA, and M.Tech courses. B.Tech admissions at RVCE are primarily based on merit in KCET. The institute considers COMDEK UGET scores in the case of students from outside Karnataka. To be eligible for admission to M.Tech courses, RVCE applicants must submit their GATE/ KPGCET/ KCET scores. RVCE MCA admission is based on merit in the K PGCET/ KMAT/ KCET.
General Merit Candidates:
- Passed 2nd PUC / 12th grade, / equivalent examination with English as one of the languages.
- Obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
- Optional subjects can be Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or Computer Science/ Electronics.
SC/ST & OBC Category Candidates:

- Obtained a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

RVCE Scholarships 2024
RVCE offers various scholarships to students according to eligibility, merit and financial assistance to students following the criteria set by the college. The following are some of the scholarships offered to the students at RVCE Bangalore:
- As a financial Incentive INR 2,500 is offered in the second year of representation, INR 3000 is offered in 3rd year and INR 3500 is offered in 4th year.
- Sports Reimbursements for students are provided by the Govt. of Karnataka
- For minorities & girl children, financial assistance up to INR 60,000 is provided.
- Meritorious students who qualified for admission through Entrance exams are provided with some concession in their total fees structure for the course
How do avail of these Scholarships?
Students can avail these scholarships by submitting the required documents along with their proof of the annual family income, academic certificates and entrance exam scorecard. The scholarships are not directly provided by the College, however, there are various sources connected with the college which provide the above scholarships. Students will have to be updated in order to get the scholarship facility.
RVCE Campus
RVCE Campus is well known for its student life and hostel facilities. RVCE's hostel has separate rooms for male and female students, with an overall capacity of 3,500 students.
RVCE has 6 hostels including 5 Boys' hostels and 1 Girl's hostel. The Chamundi block accommodates first-year U.G. and RV University students, while the Cauvery Annex block also houses first-year U.G. students.
The Cauvery Block is designated for second and third-year U.G. students, and the Sir M. Visvesvaraya Block is reserved for final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students.
RVCE hostel rooms are well-furnished with mattresses, study tables, and wardrobes. The hostels have high-speed wi-fi connectivity, housekeeping, common rooms, indoor games, mess, 24/7 medical facilities, laundry and transportation services within the university’s campus

Ans. RVCE offers lateral entry in the MCA course. Almost around 20% of seats have been allotted to those candidates who are applying for lateral entry into the MCA program.
Ques. What is the review of RVCE Karnataka?
Ans. RVCE is considered a great college for Engineering. It is AICTE approved. Engineering at the UG level is offered here in 12 different specializations. At PG Level 16 different specializations are there. Candidates will get quite a good placement at RVCE. Candidates will have to go through assignment writing, project report making and preparing for exams in every month. Students are provided all the facilities required for their comfort starting from hostels to banks within the campus itself. Overall, it is a very good option for pursuing Engineering.

Ans. Thapar University is considered better than RVCE Bangalore as it has better infrastructures and well-equipped labs with the latest instruments. The academic facility is also much better at Thapar University. The college has a better peer group. The average CTC received at Thapar University is however is same as RVCE.
