GICED Mumbai Admission Highlights 2023

Garware Institute of Career Education and Development (GICED), Mumbai offers a wide variety of courses at the undergraduate level. The duration for all the Bachelor’s degree courses is three academic years.

Candidates willing to apply for any of UG level courses must have passed in 10+2 level examination in the relevant discipline.

Admission to the undergraduate level courses (except for Aviation and Sports Management) are done through Online Test/ Written Test followed by Personal Interview. Selection is done based on the merit and performance of the candidates in the Personal Interview.

Admission to the Aviation program is based on the performance of the candidates in the Interview. Admission to the Sports Management program is conducted through an Online Test called SMAT (Sports Management Admission Test) followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Key Points to remember for Admission in various Bachelor’s degree courses:

• Candidates must have to qualify in the Online Aptitude Test/ Written Test in order to be shortlisted for the Group Discussion or Personal Interview round.
• For aviation, apart from other eligibility criteria, candidate with post HSC diploma of Maharashtra Board of Technical education or AICTE approved or any other recognized government body in IT/ Computer Technology / Computer Engineering/ Computer Science/ Electrical, Electronics & Video Engineering & allied branches/Mechanical & allied branches/ Chemical & allied branches/Civil & allied branches are also eligible to apply.

At the postgraduate level, Garware Institute of Career Education and Development, Mumbai offers a vast range of courses in various domains of study with a major focus on Management and Humanities. All the Master’s degree programs are offered for a period of two years (apart from the Lateral program).

Admissions to all the Postgraduate level programs (Except for Sports Management) are done through Written Test / Aptitude Test followed By Group Discussion and Personal Interview conducted by the institute itself.

• Candidates must need to qualify in the Shortlisting rounds (Aptitude Test, GD, PI) in order to get admission to their desired course.
• Students awaiting results of qualifying degree examination may also apply for admission provided they submit the proof for appearing in final examination (Hall Ticket).
• For Master’s degree in Agri-Business Management, candidate should have the degrees from AICTE recognized institution.
• For Financial Markets and Financial Technology Master’s program, consideration will be given to SC/ST candidates and Persons with Disability (PWD).
• For Financial Technology, candidates from Engineering / MCA /BCA / Mathematics / Economics background will get an edge over the remaining applicants for FinTech.

Apart from the UG and PG level regular courses, Garware Institute of Career Education and Development, Mumbai also provides Postgraduate level Diploma courses in several specializations.

The PG Diploma courses are offered on both Regular and Part-time basis. The duration for the PG Diploma courses varies from one year to two years depending on the type and mode of the course of study.

Admission to the Postgraduate Diploma courses are done through Written Test Followed By an Interview round conducted by the institute itself.

Key Points to remember for PG Diploma (Full time) & PG Diploma (Part time) Admission:

• For PG Diploma in Information Technology, knowledge of computer is mandatory.
• For PG Diploma in Interior Design, candidates who have flair for Good Sketching/ Drawing will be given preference.
• For PG Diploma (Full time) in Hospital Management, preference will be given to candidates with M.B.B.S, B Pharma, B.Sc, M.Sc, BAMS, BHMS, MBA.
• For PG Diploma (Full Time) in Information Technology, knowledge in computer is preferable.
• For PG Diploma (Full Time) in Pharma Management, preference will be given to MBBS, B.Pharm/ M.Pharm/ M.Sc. / BAMS / BHMS / Paramedical courses.
• For Custom Clearance & Freight Forwarding (Part Time) Lateral Entry: Candidates with UG DCCFF course from GICED are eligible to take admission in the 2nd semester after duly appearing the admission procedure at the academic time of commencement of academic year.

• Online Admission form is available at the college’s official website which can be duly filled with all necessary details.
• Candidates can also collect the Admission form from the College office.
• The Application Form duly completed and affixed with a passport size photograph is to be submitted along with a fee in cash at the cash counter.
• Admission Fees: INR 250 for Under-Graduate Course and INR 300 for Post-Graduate Course.
• Applicants will have to collect their Admission card for Entrance Test & Interview from cash counter with receipt of admission fees. The candidate should bring this card at the time of Entrance Test and Interview.

Garware Institute of Career Education and Development (GICED), Mumbai provides

GOI (Government of India) Scholarships and Free-ship schemes for the candidates belonging to the reserved categories.

Candidates are advised to bring their caste certificate, income certificate, relocation certificate and such documents specified with changes from time to time as required by Social Welfare Department. These forms should be completed to take benefit of taking admission paying only minimum fees. Candidates who do not produce correct certificates will have to pay full fees.

How to Avail the Scholarship?

Candidates belonging to the Reserved Categories should apply for GOI Scholarship / Free ship in the prescribed form with all documents in original (only full time PG & UG Courses). The students have to apply Online on the official website of Maharashtra Government.

If the application enclosed is correct and complete, they are eligible to take admission by giving only following fees:

• For Undergraduate courses, INR 125
• For Postgraduate courses, INR 75. Enrolment or Eligibility fees, Sports Fees, Convocation Fees, Caution Money, Study Material Fees, Inplant/Training Fees, etc. and Processing Fee INR 5.

Students seeking GOI scholarship only, will be paid their maintenance in their bank account, to be opened in The Corporation Bank, Kalina Branch as per Social Welfare Department guidance.

Documents required at the time of Admission:

Original and Three Attested Photocopies of following documents should be submitted at the time of admission:

• Caste Certificate in the name of candidate.
• Father's Income Certificate for the previous financial year from Tahsildar's Office for scholarship and Form 16A for free ship students. In case of Father's death, mother's income certificate along with Father's death certificate.
• District Change Certificate for students from colleges other than Mumbai University or Mumbai Board.
• ST from Ekatmik Adivasi Prakalp. SC, DT,NT, SBC, OBC from Vibhagiya Samaj Kalyan Adhikari
• Non-Creamy Layer Certificate for DT.NT, DTA, NT (B,C,D) ,OBC, SBC
• Ration Card
• Gap certificate if there is a gap.
• Mark sheet and the Leaving Certificate for the UG students
