Haldia Government College, Medinipur Admission 2024: Merit List, PG, Courses

Haldia Govt. College, Medinipur college offers General and Honours degree courses in the discipline of Arts and Science for a duration of three years. Candidates can opt for among 11 subject specializations.

Candidates who wish to pursue degree courses must have passed 10+2 and secured minimum 45% marks in at least five subjects or minimum 50% marks in the subject they are seeking admission into. For General degree in BA or B.Sc, candidates must have passed 10+2 in at least five subjects.

The criteria for admission remains merit as per marks secured in 10+2 examination.

• Candidates applying for a course in laboratory based subjects must obtain pass marks in those or relevant subjects in 10+2.
• Honours courses in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics and Economics require Mathematics as a compulsory subject in 10+2 or equivalent examination.
• Candidates who have passed 10+2 examinations from West Bengal Council of Vocational Education and Training Board or Open School are eligible for general courses only.

Haldia Government College offers M.Sc degree at PG level in Geography and Chemistry with an intake of 50 students. Candidates who have passed their Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject are held eligible for admission. Selection is based on an entrance test conducted by the college, as well as merit in the qualifying examination.

• Out of the total seats, 60% seats are reserved for admission to be conducted by Vidyasagar University based on the merit of qualifying examination.
• The remaining 40% seats are reserved for Open Competition to be filled through the merit list of entrance exam conducted by the college.
• Seats are reserved for SC, ST, PwD candidates as per university rules.
