- Selection to the majority of the courses is conducted on the basis of Merit, except for MBA and MCA courses.
- Admission to the BA & B.Sc courses are conducted on a Merit Basis
- For the admission under MBA course, the candidate must give the MAT or TANCET examination.
- For the MCA course, the candidate must pass 10+2 with mathematics as a subject, and must have a graduate degree in any discipline with Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science as a subject. Selection is on basis of score in TANCET.

Sourashtra college provides various facilities to its students, they are
- Library: Library is computerized and fulfills the needs of the students in various fields of study. A total number of Books 61,500 collection and 9 Newspapers in various disciplines are available.
- Learning Management System: It is a software application that is used to administer, for documentation, for tracking, reporting, and delivering the education courses and for training programs.
- Auditorium: The college has a sizable auditorium that can be used for the various culture programs and functions conducted.
- Play Ground: There is a large playground open for use by the students and can be used for a variety of games such as cricket, football, athletics, etc.
- Capability Enhancement and Development Schemes:
- Guidance for Competitive Examinations: The Department of English has a separate course on ‘English for Competitive Examinations’ for the students to equip them to face competitive examinations.
- Career Counselling: The Institution has Career Counselling Cell to guide the students for their higher studies.
- Soft Skill Development: All the students in the institution learn a separate course on Soft Skill Development to develop the communicative skills of the students. The Department of English provides a separate chapter for Soft Skills in Part II English for the students.
- Remedial Coaching: All the Departments conduct remedial coaching for weak students and slow learners.
- Language Lab: The Department of English has a Language Lab with AV Lab facility. Teacher: students Interactive method of Teaching: The learning process is followed for the benefit of students in the lab.
- Bridge Courses: After the centralized orientation of the I Year students, each department conducts bridge courses for their respective students.
- Yoga and Meditation: The college conducts training programs on Yoga and Meditation for the students to develop sound health and a sound mind. Prof. K.V. Kannan, Assistant Professor of English is a Registered Yoga Trainer.
