Ques. How are the placements for MS QE at Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi?
Ans. ISI Delhi is one of the top post-graduate institutes in India. The best undergraduates of the country are trained by an internationally renowned faculty. ISI conducts rigorous research and training in the latest quantitative methods and tools to analyze problems that arise in the fields of business, finance, data analytics, governance, and policymaking. The average salary is around 14-15 LPA. On the other hand, lowest would be around 12 LPA. The highest salary is around 30-35 LPA for deserving students.
Ques. Suppose my background is in engineering or physics, or some other field, should I still take the Selection Test in Ph.D.?
Ans. If you don’t have formal training in economics as part of your education, we strongly encourage you to contact the Institute or take the Selection Test. They have several students in the past who have successfully completed the doctoral program (and passed the Selection Test) who didn’t have economics as the first line of study.
Ques. When is the M.S.(Q.E.) entrance examination usually announced? When is it held?
Ans. It is usually advertised in many major English dailies around January-February. The written examination is generally held sometime in May. The selection procedure will be based on academic record and performance in the entrance test.
Ques. What is the placement record for students doing a Ph.D. (Economics) from ISI Delhi?

While choosing between Kolkata or the Delhi campus students should apply to any one of them and not in both of them. Some commonly known facts regarding this are: -
People believe that it is easier to get into ISI Kolkata when compared to ISI Delhi because of the location and fewer competitors for the institute which is absolutely wrong. Both the institutes have the same cutoff and entrance exam. The criteria for the selection of students is also the same in both the institutes therefore it is equally hard for the students to get into both.
According to a report published it has been observed that students find it easier to get into ISI Kolkata when compared to ISI Delhi. The cutoff criteria change every year and for last year it was: -
Overall ISI Delhi is the better option here but ISI Kolkata is the safer one.
One of my friends graduated from ISI, Delhi Campus. So I might be able to give you some information about it.
However, in Delhi and Kolkata, interviews are performed at the relevant locations. That is, students who are chosen in a Delhi interview are admitted to ISI Delhi, and vice versa.
