Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Distance (DDCE) Admission 2024: Courses, Fees, Eligibility Criteria

Manonmaniam Sundaranar University offers multidisciplinary UG courses under its Distance Education program. Admission to these courses is given provisionally based on the candidate’s eligibility and qualification. 

Eligibility Criteria

Selection Criteria

• The admission to the UG courses is based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
• Eligible applicants shall download the application form or get it directly from the university and fill it up with the correct details.
• Application form with all the required documents (SSC & HSC Mark Statement, TC), and application fee must be submitted to the admission department on or before the stipulated date.
• The candidates can also apply online and pay the application.
• The university will scrutinize the applications and publish a merit list based on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam.
• The University will send call letters to all the provisionally selected candidates for UG Admission. 
• Allotment of Study Centres will be made through Pre-Admission Counselling. 
• Those who do not report themselves on the day of the Pre-Admission Counselling session will forfeit their claim for a seat.

Manonmaniam Sundaranar University offers a 2 years B.Ed course under its Distance Education program. Admission to these courses is given provisionally based on the candidate’s eligibility and qualification. 

Eligibility Criteria

• The candidates should have done 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern of study and passed the qualifying examination conducted by any recognized Board of examination, and UG Degree Examination from the UGC recognized Universities.
• Trained in-service teachers in elementary education.
• Candidates who have completed an NCTE recognized teacher education program through face-to-face mode.
• The school teachers with a Bachelor’s degree in Tamil/ English/ Mathematics/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Botany/ Zoology/ History/ Geography/ Computer Science or a Post- Graduate degree in Economics/ Commerce/ Home Science.
• Candidates not qualified in XII examination or PUC but possessing Two Years Bachelor Preparatory Programme Certificate / Foundation Course / Two Years Diploma Course conducted by State Government/ recognized Universities and qualified with three years UG Degree course are also considered eligible.
• The candidates who have qualified in PG Degree (5 Years Integrated Course) under 10+2+5 pattern of study are eligible.
• Candidates must be currently working in schools (Primary / Middle / High School / Higher Secondary / Matriculation) recognized by the State / Central Government.

The following candidates are not eligible:

• Candidates who have passed the UG (or) PG Degree OUS without qualifying in 11 years SSLC exam or 1 year of PUC examination (or) 10 +2 pattern of School education shall not be considered for admission.
• Candidates having a direct UG Degree (without +2 qualifications) / Direct Post – Graduate Degree (without UG Degree) are not eligible for admission.
• Candidates who have passed Under Double Degree / Additional Degree program with less than 3 years duration are not eligible for admission.
• Those who are working in Colleges / ITIs / Polytechnics are not eligible.
• Applicants having a Cross-Major Subject in PG Degree (that is, PG subject different from UG subject) are not eligible. (For example, a candidate having a UG degree in Mathematics and a PG degree in English are not eligible).

Admission to PG courses is given based on a candidate’s qualification & eligibility. Candidates have to select a Study center of their preference and they have to appear in person during the examination at the selected study center.

• Course material is sent via post at the candidate’s address of correspondence within 15 days from the date of receipt of the application form.

Manonmaniam Sundaranar University offers Full-time / Part-time Ph.D. in Education. Admission to these courses is given provisionally based on the candidate’s eligibility, qualification, and entrance exam conducted by the university.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who have secured their Master’s Degree and M.Phil with 55% or its equivalent grade of marks (relaxation of 5% of marks to SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / differently-abled) are eligible for the Ph.D. program. 
• Candidates who have passed Master’s Degree through the Open University system are not eligible.
• Qualifying Entrance Examination is mandatory for registration to PhD
• Candidates with NET / SET / JRF / GATE qualifications are exempted from the Qualifying Entrance Examination.

Selection Criteria

• Candidates will be admitted for the Ph.D. program through a common entrance test, followed by an interview. 
• Entrance Examination will be conducted in the subjects of the Master Degree obtained by the candidate.
• At the time of the interview, the candidates are expected to discuss their research interests/areas.
• Pass Percentage in the entrance examination (combined marks of both Written examination and interview) is 55% for General, and 50% for SC / ST / BC candidates.
• The results can be downloaded from the university website using their registration number/phone number as a login ID.

How to Apply For a Ph.D.?

The interested and eligible candidates can apply to the Ph.D. course in the following way:

Candidates are advised to visit the university website and read the Ph.D. Regulations.

• The Ph.D. program Online registration is be permitted twice a year i.e. January and July sessions, depending on the number of vacancies.
• Register yourself, fill in the details, and upload the relevant documents.
• Review the application and pay the application fee.
• Appear for the Entrance Examination, conducted at the university campus, followed by an Interview.
