The college being a minority institution 50% of the seats are filled with those candidates allotted by Karnataka Government on the basis of the merit both in the qualifying exam, i.e., first degree and in the statewide Common Entrance Test. The remaining 50% of the seats are filled on the basis of the entrance test conducted by the college and counseling.
