Naba Ballygunge Mahavidyalaya Admission 2024

The admissions at NBMG Kolkata are based on merits obtained by the student in the previous qualifying examination. The students are required to score an aggregate of 50% marks in 10+2 for UG admissions and an aggregate of 45% marks for the PG admissions.

How to apply?

  • Go to the official website of the college and click on the “Apply Online” tag.
  • Fill all the details correctly and recheck before moving on for the next process.
  • Upload all the scanned copies of the documents mentioned in the application form.
  • Upload the photograph and signature.
  • Pay the application fees online or, offline by printing the challan copy.
  • Print the payslip for future reference.
  • Submit the application form and take a print out of the same.

After filling the application form correctly, candidates need to wait for the publication of the selection list. College administration authority will release the candidate's list according to the marks scored in the 10+2 or any other higher secondary level education.  If the candidate manages to acquire a position in any of the lists, then she has to report physically with all the documents listed below in the College on the pre-specified date announced by the College.

Naba Ballygunge Mahavidyalaya Scholarship

The college provides scholarship to the following students:

  • Scheduled caste & Scheduled Tribe Scholarship/Stipend is granted by the Director of Scheduled caste & Scheduled Tribe Welfare from the Office of the Special Officer, SC & ST Welfare, New Treasury Building, Alipore, Kolkata-27. Prescribed application forms are available from the college office after admission.
  • Concessions in Tuition Fees in the form of Half-Free studentship are awarded to a limited number of students of the college who are in acute financial hardship. For this purpose, printed application forms are issued from the college office every year following the notification by the Principal. However, proper documents in support of financial status are required to be submitted. Documents must be authenticated by the competent authority.
  • Poor and meritorious students, having regular attendance and good performance in the periodical and annual examination are provided with financial assistance from the Students’ Welfare fund and Student Aid Fund of the teachers’ Council. There is a committee formed by the Governing Body, with students, non-teaching office staff, and teaching staff as members to look into the process of selection and distribution of the available fund.

  • Auditorium: The college boasts of a large auditorium where many programs are held annually.
  • Canteen: The college canteen serves substantial and nutritious meals at reasonable prices. It is a favorite rendezvous of students and standards of hygiene are strictly maintained.
  • Common Room: Separate common room has been provided for girls and boys students and there are provisions for indoor games and other co-curricular activities.
  • Cycle Stand: There is a cycle stand and car parking zone within the college/campus where the students keep their conveyances.
  • Photo-Copier: For the benefit of students, there is a photocopier or Xerox machine inside the college campus where reading materials can be photocopied at a low price.
  • Complaint Box: As per the directives of the University, there is a complaint box within the college premises, in front of the Principal’s chamber where the students can express their views and grievances (if any).
  • Grievance Redressal cell: A grievance Redressal Cell has been set up in the college to deal with complaints relating to sexual harassment cases and any other grievance relating to academic or non-academic matters within the college as per UGC guidelines.
  • Alumni Association: An Alumni Association has been formed for better understanding and communication among past and present students of this college.
  • Purified Drinking Water: Aqua Guards have been installed on every floor for purifying drinking water supply with proper sanitation.
  • Book Bank: The college provides Book Bank facilities to those students who are economically poor. Usually, one set of three books is issued which the students may keep still after the completion of the examination.
  • First Aid: First aid and sick room facilities are provided to all students, teaching and non-teaching staff as and when required.
  • Anti-Ragging Cell: The college has given much importance to this cell/committee and the students particularly the fresher are always encouraged to report any case of their harassment to the members of this cell.
  • Railway Concession: Students will get the benefit of concession in railway fare for traveling between the college and residence.
