Institute of Forensic Science, GFSU Admissions 2024: Courses, Eligibility, Scholarships

The Institute of Forensic Science offers admission to students who are interested in Cyber security and incident response M.Tech programs. Those with a B.Tech degree can apply for the course. Here are the major highlights of the course.

Eligibility Criteria

• B.E./ B.Tech. in Computer Engineering/ Technology or Computer Science and Engineering or Information Technology Engineering or Information and Communication technology or equivalent qualification from recognized University with minimum 55 % marks or equivalent from recognized university.
• 5% marks relaxation will be considered for eligibility of SC/ ST candidates.

Selection Criteria

• Admission is given on the merit basis of the following criteria as decided by the Academic Council.
  1. 100% of the GATE Score for GATE qualified students.
  2. 100% of Score of Entrance Test conducted for Non - GATE qualified students by the Gujarat Forensic Sciences University.
• The preference will be given to GATE qualified over Non - GATE qualified students in merit list.
• The semester tuition fee for M.Tech is INR 65000 per semester, not including other university fees.

How to apply for GATE?

• Registration on the official website of GATE. 
• Fill the application form with personal, academic, qualification details, you will have to choose the preferred exam centre. 
• The process of uploading documents like photographs, signature, eligibility certificate and SC/ST certificate (if there) must be done. 
• Fee payment of INR 1500 or INR 2000 (based on various criteria) must be done. 
• Submission of application form.

Other postgraduate programs offered by the institute are M.Sc, and PG Diploma courses. Students who are interested must have a graduate degree in the relevant field. Here are the highlights of all the courses:

• The semester tuition fee for M.Sc is between INR 40000 - INR 50000, M.Tech is INR 65000 and PG Diploma is INR 30000 per semester, does not include other university fees.
• 5% marks relaxation will be considered for eligibility of SC/ ST candidates.

Selection Criteria

• Merit list will be prepared on the basis of 100% of the Score of Entrance Test conducted by the Gujarat Forensic Sciences University for M.Sc/ PG Diploma

• The entrance examination for the admission in M.Tech./ M.Sc./ PG Diploma will be conducted by GFSU at Gandhinagar.
• The exam will be in Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) format and will not have any negative marks. There will be 50 questions and each question will carry two marks.
