At present, the Institute offers 9 specializations in full-time BA programs. For the purpose of admission, students can apply online for the SET examination. Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear at the SCMC campus for the written test and personal interview.

The institute accepts online applications and admissions are based on the entrance examination. The application fee required to register for the SET exam is INR. 1750/- Admission updates will be posted on the college’s official website.

SCMC Pune Bachelor of Arts Eligibility Criteria

For Bachelor of Arts, candidates who have scored minimum 50 % marks (45% for SC/ST) in any discipline from any recognized board / Council / University, are eligible to seek admission. SCMC has an annual intake of 120 students.

Reservation of Seats is as follows:

SCMC Pune Bachelor of Arts Selection Criteria

Candidates have to appear for SET during the first round of the selection process

After the first-round candidates are shortlisted on the basis of SET scores and shortlisted candidates are called to the campus
SET contains 5 sections i.e. English, Quantitative, General Awareness, Analytical and Logical Reasoning and Written Ability Test. The test is of 120 minutes (90 minutes for MCQ followed by 30 minutes for WAT)
For the second round, candidates have to appear for an assessment consisting of a test of writing abilities, personal interaction, studio test and document verification
The assessment is of 3-4 hours

Visit the official website for SET registration and fill the registration form with all the required details.
The entrance test registration fee for SLAT/SET- General is Rs. 1750/-
Select the ‘SET- General’ during the ' Afternoon session GENERAL/SITEEE' in the discipline preference section
Choose 'Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication [SCMC] - [B.A. (M.C)]' in the programmes under general
Select the finalize option to check the amount to be paid under the “Make Payment” section.
The registration fee for each program is INR 1000/-, which is mandatory to pay.

Ques. How to reach SCMC Pune Campus?

Ans. Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication is on the Viman Nagar Campus of Symbiosis International University. Railway Station of Pune is about 8 km away and the International Airport of Pune is around 1 km away from the College. Students can take a bus, taxi or an auto-rickshaw to reach SCMC.

Ques. How is the second round of SCMC Pune admission conducted?

Ans. The Second Round of admission comprises a Personal Interaction (PI), a Writing Ability Test (WAT), and a Studio Test (ST). Personal Interaction is a conversation cum counseling session that is designed to test your capabilities, educational background, hobbies & interests, future aspirations, etc. There is no preparation required for it. The Writing Ability Test is a subjective essay-type test to evaluate the written communication skills of the candidates. For example, you may be asked to write an essay on the following subject: Would you prefer to live in a hostel or an apartment while pursuing your graduation. Why?

The Studio Test comprises simple tasks which do not require preparation. For example, they may give you a set of pictures and ask you to arrange the same in such a manner that it tells a story.

Ques. Is there any accommodation available on SCMC Pune campus?

Ans. The Symbiosis Viman Nagar campus currently has six hostel wings— four for female students (capacity of 1417), and two for male students (capacity of 118). These hostels are located within walking and easy commuting distance of the campus and are available to students from SCMC and other institutes inside the Viman Nagar Campus — the Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Symbiosis Institute of Design, Symbiosis Law School and Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts.
