Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture is brought into existence by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) with the sole aim to promote and develop the Brackishwater Aquaculture in India. Brackishwater Aquaculture means research and study of augmenting shell fish and finfish production. The Centre stands as a nodal agency for the same and runs its Research and extension work in this field. Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture is running a research and consultancy centre where scientists and Research students undertake related projects to analyze and study in depth on them. Its Kakdwip Research Centre in West Bengal is well equipped for conducting experiments and routine analysis. Moreover, the centre also provides consultancy services and conduct tests, as per the guidelines of ICAR.
