Government Dental College Kottayam, or GDC Kottayam, is a third-renowned dental college established in 2002. It is located in Kottayam, Kerala, and was inaugurated by Sri. A.K. Antony, former Chief Minister of Kerala. GDC Kottayam was affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University and approved by the Dental Council of India. The college is ranked A grade by the Quality Assurance Monitoring Committee of the University (QAMC).
GDC Kottayam is known for its full-time BDS and MDS programs. The total seat intake capacity of the campus is 66 (BDS: 40 & MDS: 26). It offers MDS programs in various specializations such as Prosthodontics, Conservative Dentistry, Periodontics, Orthodontics and Oral Pathology. The college also offers diplomas in Dental Operating Room Assistant and Dental Mechanic for two years. GDC Kottayam accepts NEET UG and NEET MDS scores for admission to BDS and MDS. Admissions to GDC Kottayam BDS and MDS programs are based on the score obtained in the NEET UG and NEET MDS examinations, respectively. Once the applicant qualifies for respective examinations, they need to appear in the State Counselling Process conducted by CEE, Kerala. For the BDS program, 15% of seats are reserved under the All India Quota, and 85% are reserved under the State Quota. Admission to the Diploma courses is based on the merit scored in the last qualifying examination.
The candidate must register on the Kerala State Counselling website at https://cee.kerala.gov.in/main.php. After successful registration, the candidate will receive a unique application number and password. The candidate must complete the application form using the application number and password. Enter the Roll Number, Mobile Number, Date of Birth, etc. Candidates must lock in GDC Kottayam as their preferred college. The CEE will release the state allotment lists on the website. The applicant must carry the allotment letter and other required documents when appearing for the document verification process at the allotted college. Lastly, pay the admission fee to complete the admission formalities.
GDC Kottayam Cutoff 2024 is yet to be released. Admission for BDS and MDS is based on the NEET UG and NEET MDS scores, respectively.
