School of Excellence in Law (SOEL) was established in year 2002. It is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai.
The college offers four integrated law programs which are BA-LLB, BBA-LLB, B.Com-LLB and BCA-LLB and a regular LL.B. program. School of Excellence in Law also offers PG program in LLM.
- Admission to Integrated programs is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.
- Selection of candidates applying for the LLB program is based on the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in aggregate of all the subjects in the qualifying degree examination, excluding languages.
- Candidates with professional degrees such as BE/ B.Tech. /MBBS/B.Pharm etc. securing 60% aggregate marks in their final exam are eligible to apply for the LLB Honours program.
- For LLB Honours program, the minimum marks eligibility criteria for SC/ST and NRI candidates is 55% marks in aggregate of all subjects.
- For Integrated LLB program, minimum marks of 70% is required for NRI Candidates to become eligible.
- Applicants who have completed 10+2 or graduation through Open University system directly without having any basic qualification are not eligible for any of the courses.
- Candidates applying for any of the courses offered by the school must fill the OMR Coding Sheet instead of the regular application format.
- Original Certificates should not be enclosed with the application form at the time of submission.
- Reservation is provided as per the University and Govt. of Tamil Nadu norms.

School of Excellence in Law UG Admission 2023
School of Excellence in Law offers regular and integrated Bachelor’s degree program in the field of Law.
The five-year integrated programs include BA-LLB (Hons.), B.Com.-LLB (Hons.), BBA-LLB (Hons.), and BCA-LLB (Hons.) with intake capacity of 180 seats for the BA-LL.B program and 120 seats each for the other three courses. The institute also offers a regular LL.B. Honours program with an intake of 120 seats.
The basic eligibility criteria for the integrated program is a pass in HSC/10+2 level examination with 70% aggregate marks.
Candidates with any Bachelor’s degree may apply for the LL.B. Honours program, provided they have secured at least 60% marks in the last qualifying exam.
Selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit, i.e. marks secured in the last qualifying exam.

Key Points to remember for UG Admission:
- For B.Com.-LLB, candidates must have completed 10+2 with Commerce group subjects.
- For BCA-LLB, candidates must have studied Computer Science as a subject at 10+2 level.
- Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe communities should have secured not less than 60% of the total marks in the aggregate for integrated programs.
- For LLB, SC/DT candidates with minimum 55% marks are eligible for admission.
- In case of students claiming seats under Non-Resident Indians (NRI) category should have secured not less than 60% in the qualifying examination.
- Employed candidates are not eligible to apply for the LL.B. program.

School of Excellence in Law offers a regular LLM program in nine specializations.
The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the LLM program is a B.L. or LLB degree with minimum 45% marks under new regulations. Selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.

- B.L. / LL.B. candidates under old regulations are eligible to apply subject to meeting the minimum marks of 40%.
- Candidates awaiting their final year results are also eligible to apply.
School of Excellence in Law Application Process 2023
The college accepts the application of candidates through Offline mode only. Candidates seeking admission under NRI quota must obtain application form for NRI Candidates.
- Candidate can obtain the application form from College office or by post.
- Candidate seeking application form by post have to send a requisition form mentioning the course along with application fees.
- Candidate can pay the application fees by downloading a challan from University website or from University Office and paying it to any branch of Indian Bank.
- Candidates can also obtain the application form on submission of challan only.
- Application fees will not be accepted through Cash/Cheque/Demand Draft/Money Order/Bank Pay Order etc.
- NRI Candidate can pay the Application fees by Demand Draft.
